What are we learning?
Language Arts:
We reviewed literature vs informational books and how to use text features. We learned about the main idea and details of a text. Lastly, we learned about singular vs plural nouns.
Books we read and discussed-
- “Veteran’s Day”
- “How Animals Communicate”
- “Water”
- “What Do We need?”
- “Penguins”
- “Pete the Cat- First Thanksgiving”
- “Who Will Carve the Turkey this Thanksgiving?”
- “A Turkey for Thanksgiving”
- “The Most Thankful Thing”
Writing: Students have been writing informational books. They choose a topic that they know a lot about or select a book from the library and become an expert on that topic. They write mini books using non-fiction text features. Also, we got to complete some fun Thanksgiving writing prompts and crafts.
