Week 1:

K-2nd grade:

This week’s activity is making your name or STEM out of recycled materials or other  items from your home. If you have access to SeeSaw, you can look for the STEM section and send me a picture or video.  I can’t wait to see you! I will be sending you a video to view this week too.

3rd-4th grade:

This week’s activity is inventing something to solve a problem in your house or for yourself.  You can either draw it on paper, use Google Drawing or make it out of recycled materials. If you have access to SeeSaw, you can look for the STEM section and send me a picture or video.  I will also have this posted in our Google Classroom so you can share it with me there. I will have Google Drawing linked for you in our STEM Google classroom with a spot for you to add a photo if you want to share it with me.  I can’t wait to see or hear from you! I will also be posting some extra STEM activities if you would like to try them at any time during this remote learning time.

5th grade:

This week’s activity is to make a Rube Goldberg chain reaction using items in your room or in your house.   I will also have this posted in our Google Classroom if you want to share it with me there. I also have a video linked if you need to see what I am talking about.  It can be an easy one that takes a few minutes to a more complex one if you have time. If you don’t want to make it with materials you can just draw a model on paper.  I can’t wait to see or hear from you! Vex IQ blocks programmers are working on a VR robot that will appear on the screen so you could still do coding with a virtual VEX IQ robot to play out your code.  I will keep you posted on this!

I am available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day if you need support.  After 1:30 I may be meeting with other teachers and may not be readily available, but should be able to respond by 3:30 p.m. that day.  You can reach me at tawolf@d47.org.
