Teacher Messagef

Happy New Year! It’s wonderful to see the students refreshed and healthy after the break and ready to learn. We are diving into many learning activities. I told the class that next week we will be setting reading goals as a challenge to read more genres in the new year.

We also finished the last MAP test. Next week your child will begin the FastBridge assessments.

Math

The class just finished our unit on Algebra. We are going to review double-digit multiplication and long-division next week. After that, we will be starting a new journal for the next trimester learning geometry.  We will skip to unit 8.

Language Arts

The class finished publishing their Time For Kids nomination. These opinion essays will be hanging up in the classroom.

Science

We are learning about magnets and how they attract and repel. The class explored what magnets stick to. We read a folktale about Magnus and the magnetic black rock. It could be how magnetism was first discovered by finding magnetite.
