Teacher Notes

Thanks for buying books at the bookfair!

We have one more field trip next week and we are headed to Hannah to see the middle school bands on Friday.

We had so much fun on our field trip to Marengo Ridge. We studied rocks and minerals and went on a mile hike. I hope your child was protected from the insects. It might not be bad to have them check themselves for ticks as a precaution.

a        Our Unit 7 math test will be next Wednesday. We will review on Monday and Tuesday. The test will cover fractions and decimals. Some skills to practice are comparing fractions and decimals, changing a fraction to a decimal, making a line plot, and solving fraction story problems.

Language Arts

This week we read a realistic fiction story called, Romie and Me. The story was about a collage artist. After reading the story, the kids starting creating their own collage about themselves on Google Drawings.

We started learning about habitats. We read Box Turtle at Long Pond. Please ask your child the four components an animal needs for survival. Next week we start dissecting owl pellets. Yippee!
