What is the process for considering AT?
If it is determined that a student might need assistive technology, parents are notified and the AT consultation process begins.
D47 uses the SETT Model (Student, Environment, Tasks, Tools) to guide the assistive technology process. SETT looks at a students' strengths and weakness, the environment they are in, and the tasks that they are required to complete. After gathering all of that information, required assistive technology features are determined and an appropriate tool is selected and trialed.
Parents who feel their student would benefit from assistive technology can fill out the following form to start the consultation process.
