At the District 47 board meeting on March 16, 2020, the board of education approved the appointment of Christina Moran as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment effective July 1, 2020.

Miss Moran has served as the principal of North Elementary School since 2017; prior to that, she was the assistant principal at North for three years. Miss Moran joined District 47 in the fall of 2009 and has served as a learning behavior specialist and teacher at Canterbury and West Elementary schools prior to coming to North. Miss Moran obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois State University and her master’s degree in education in administration and supervision from National Louis University. She is currently finishing her doctoral degree in leadership in educational administration from Aurora University, where she obtained her superintendent’s endorsement.

"I look forward to continuing to serve the students and staff of District 47 in this new role” said Moran. “Taking on a more expansive role will provide the opportunity to support teaching and learning and contribute in ways that fulfill the district’s mission of empowering all students.”

“Miss Moran has been integral in supporting staff, students, and families in the design and creation of an educational environment that supports all learners,” said Superintendent Dr. Kathy Hinz. “She is a knowledgeable educator in curriculum, assessment, and supporting the social-emotional needs of students. We look forward to sharing Miss Moran’s talents and expertise across the district in her new role.”
