Leadership Changes for 2018-19
District 47 is excited to welcome the following individuals to their new positions for the 2018-19 school year (effective July 1, 2018).
Director of Professional Development
Anastasia Gruper is the new Director of Professional Development. Gruper has served as an assistant principal at Glacier Ridge Elementary School since 2013. She began her career in District 47 in 2002 as a seventh grade teacher at Bernotas Middle School and became an assistant principal at Bernotas in 2008.
Director of Math, Science and STEM
Carolyn Stadlman is the new Director of Math, Science and STEM. Stadlman has served as an assistant principal at Hannah Beardsley Middle School since August 2015. Prior to taking on this role in District 47, she served as an elementary principal in Antioch District 34 for five years and as a general education teacher and English Language Learner resource teacher in Mundelein District 75 for seven years.
Director of Dual Language and EL
Kari Keith is the District’s new Director of Dual Language and English Learner programs. Keith has served as principal at Churchill Elementary in Glen Ellyn, as well as director of the English Learner program for Community Unit School District 200 in Wheaton, where she was also an EL/bilingual facilitator and teacher.
Assistant Principal at Hannah Beardsley Middle School
Aaron Knoth is a new Assistant Principal at Hannah Beardsley Middle School. Knoth replaces Carolyn Stadlman, who is the District’s new Director of Math, Science and STEM. Besides taking on his new role at HBMS, Knoth took the lead as principal of the District’s ESY (Extended School Year) program this summer. He has spent his 11-year education career in District 47 serving as a math teacher for eight years at Bernotas Middle School, an icoach (technology coach) at Woods Creek Elementary School, and most recently as a full-time instructional coach at Hannah Beardsley Middle School.
Assistant Principal at Glacier Ridge Elementary School
Rebecca Adams is the new Assistant Principal at Glacier Ridge Elementary. For the past two years, she has served as assistant principal at South Elementary. Adams has been in education for 16 years, with most of that tenure spent at an elementary school in Woodstock where she taught various grade levels, from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
Assistant Principal at Canterbury Elementary School
Amy Lilly is the new Assistant Principal at Canterbury Elementary. Lilly started her career in education as a special education teacher and taught at the elementary and middle school levels for 10 years. She moved into administration in 2005, spending most of her career in Prospect Heights, Illinois, before coming to District 47 as an assistant principal at Hannah Beardsley Middle School in 2009. Lilly served at HBMS for three years before becoming Assistant Director of Special Education in 2012, where she has been for the past six years.
Assistant Principal at South Elementary
Michelle Barrett is the new assistant principal at South Elementary. Prior to her administrative role at South, Barrett was an assistant principal at Kimball Hill School in CCSD #15 in Palatine. She also served as a classroom teacher for 17 years with the vast majority as an intermediate teacher at Woods Creek Elementary School in District 47.
Assistant Director of Special Education
Dawn Langdon is Assistant Director of Special Education. She has spent the past 11 years at Bernotas Middle School where she was a 7th grade learning specialist and before that served as a teacher in the Communication Development Program. Prior to that she spent 10 years at the high school level as a special education teacher and instructional coordinator.
