Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 and Bricks of Hope Collaborate for LEGO® Drive

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is proud to announce its partnership with Bricks of Hope for a charitable LEGO® Drive aimed at spreading joy and support to children during their hospital stays.

District 47 schools and the district office are serving as collection sites for the Bricks of Hope LEGO® Drive. The initiative encourages families to donate new LEGO® sets, which will be distributed to children in hospitals undergoing medical treatment, providing them with comfort and entertainment during challenging times.

“District 47’s mission is Empowering All Students, and while that is the focus for our students, we believe in the power of compassion and support beyond the walls of our schools," said Dr. Kathy J. Hinz, District 47 Superintendent. "This LEGO® Drive presents an opportunity to harness something our students love and extend that joy to other children when they need it most. By partnering with a local charity like Bricks of Hope, we are exemplifying our commitment to caring for those in need and fostering a culture of kindness and empathy among our students."

Bricks of Hope provided the district with message cards, ensuring that students who may not be able to donate can still offer words of encouragement to children in the hospital. Donations will be accepted until May 17th. With numerous end-of-school-year events approaching, the district anticipated this time of year would facilitate greater contributions.
