Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is excited to announce the launch of "Deep Dive with Dr. Hinz," a podcast hosted by Superintendent Dr. Kathy Hinz. This is a conversation based podcast; a platform for open dialogue, meaningful conversations, and a deeper understanding of the incredible District 47 community.
Bi-weekly episodes will explore the world of public education and offer an opportunity to connect with D47 staff, teachers, students, parents, and community members. The podcast will cover a wide range of topics, from innovative teaching approaches to the latest advancements in technology, and from student achievements to community engagement initiatives.
“I believe that communication is the foundation of a strong school district, and this podcast is one of the many ways we can bridge the gap between us,” said Dr. Hinz. “I’m excited to dive into important topics with guests that can provide a really unique lens on the topic.”
The platform provides a space to expand on complex issues like school safety, mental health support, and future plans for the district, share diverse perspectives, and provide a deeper understanding of matters that deeply impact our educational community.
The first episode drops Thursday, August 17, 2023. D47 Director of Safety Gary Snep joins Dr. Hinz in a discussion on school safety. Future guests include the Crystal Lake Public Library, Glacier Ridge Elementary Principal Dr. Anastasia Gruper, and a highlight on the district's dual language program from a teacher and student perspective.
