11/5 UPDATE: District 47 moved to a remote learning model on November 2, 2020 for all students. During remote learning, food distribution will occur weekly on Tuesdays from 3pm to 6pm at Hannah Beardsley Middle School and Glacier Ridge Elementary School.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Illinois State Board of Education Nutrition Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that breakfast and lunch will be available to all students under 18 at no charge through June 30, 2021. All meals are peanut-free and prepared by Sodexo in accordance with National School Lunch Program guidelines. See below for District 47's food distribution schedule. FOR STUDENTS ATTENDING SCHOOL FOR IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION:
Food will be distributed daily at dismissal. Students will take home one grab-and-go lunch and breakfast daily, Monday through Friday.
FOR REMOTE LEARNING STUDENTS:
Food will be distributed as a drive-up service weekly on Tuesdays from 3pm to 6pm at Hannah Beardsley Middle School and Glacier Ridge Elementary School. Additional school locations will be added if needed. Families will be provided meals for the full week, which means 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches for each student.
