Cold Weather Guidelines

Since school will be in session on many cold days during the winter, it is important to make sure students are dressed appropriately to participate in outside activities. The guidelines established by District 47 during cold weather are as follows:

Maximum Time Spent Outside

15 degrees or warmer

Zero to 15 degrees above zero

20 minutes

Below zero

Students remain indoors

Warm weather items would include: warm winter coat, hat, gloves, scarf, earmuffs.
If there is snow then students should have snow pants and snow boots to be able to play in the snow.  If there is snow and no snow pants and snow shoes then students will be allowed to play on the blacktop only.
