Beginning Monday, December 4, 2017, Indian Prairie Elementary School will begin using the Blackboard notification system to alert parents of a student’s absence from school. The notification system allows the school to communicate with parents via phone, text message, and email in a timely and efficient manner.
If you receive an attendance message, please call the school’s attendance line at 815-788-5705 as soon as possible to report your child’s absence. Failure to notify the school by noon will result in an unexcused absence.
A parent or guardian must call the school each day a student misses all or part of his/her school day. You must notify the office even if you've corresponded with the teacher. You may leave information on the attendance line voicemail system 24 hours a day or call the school main office between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm to report your child’s absence.
In order to receive attendance notifications and other critical school communications, it is important that your contact information stays up-to-date in ParentVue. Should you need to make a change, please notify the school office.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to streamlining our process to continue to ensure the safety and well-being of your child.
