PTO/PTA

All District 47 schools have their own PTO/PTA. The PTO/PTA is a volunteer-based non-profit organization committed to supporting the school community. The PTO/PTA organizes events throughout the year, like classroom parties, speakers and assemblies, book fairs, celebrations, and fundraisers, to bring together families, faculty, and staff in a fun and engaging way.

To anyone hesitant about getting involved with the PTO or volunteering, I’d say: just try it. There’s no pressure to commit to everything. Even helping with one event or task, like decorating or organizing, makes a difference. Everyone has their own jam, and the PTO is such a welcoming group.-Haley Havenga, pto member, Husmann

There are many different ways to volunteer without a huge time commitment. Whether it’s a TAP room project, helping at an event, or just coming to a PTO meeting, there are countless ways to get involved and make a difference. -Ginny Pondel, PTO Financial Secretary, SOuth Elementary
