Woods Creek School After School Car Pick-Up Pass Procedures 2026-2027
The safety of our students is a top priority at Woods Creek School. With this goal, we have a 3-color pick-up pass procedure for picking up students after school by car. If you will walk to/from school or are utilizing the District 47 bus service to/from school, you do not need this information. Please note that 2 vehicles are assigned to most pick up spots along the front sidewalk. We will be assigning pass colors and electronically collecting requests using a Google Form on a first come, first serve basis. On the morning of August 13 at 10:00 a.m. Woods Creek will send an email with a link to a Google Form. If you are interested in a car pick-up pass, submit your request via the Google Form. NEW this school year: The assigned pick-up passes will be handed out to families in person at a session immediately following Student Orientation on August 18. Please plan to stay for a 30 minute pick-up pass orientation, which starts at 9:15 a.m, before getting issued your pass. An adult must attend this orientation.

Parents who plan to regularly pick up their child via car after school, must have an assigned pick-up pass for the 2026-27 school year to enter the school parking lot between 3:26 and 3:32 p.m. Passes from last school year may not be re-used. Parents with a pass may enter the parking lot when their specific color is designated by a staff member holding the colored sign at the entrance of the parking lot. As students are dismissed, they will proceed to a designated spot marked by a number on the front sidewalk and enter the car from the passenger side only. Please show your child this numbered spot on the front sidewalk so they know where to meet you.     

Students whose parent has an assigned colored pick-up pass will be dismissed at the following times:
1.  Red Pass             students are dismissed at 3:26 p.m.
2.  Yellow Pass        students are dismissed at 3:28 p.m.
3.  Green Pass        students are dismissed at 3:30 p.m.

Walkers and bus riders will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m. Bus riders line up on the west playground and staff load them after most cars exit the parking lot. If your child is walking home on a certain day, he/she may not leave the building until 3:30 p.m. Also, please notify the teacher in advance of any change in dismissal. 

Red pass holders can enter the lot as early as 3:15 p.m. For those yellow and green pass holders, please wait for the yellow or green color to be shown on the sign. You may drive around the local neighborhood or wait on a sidestreet (NOT Alexandra Blvd.) until your designated color is up. Please note our buses usually wait to enter the lot on Alexandra Blvd., so avoid this street. 

Since two cars are assigned to most spots along the front sidewalk, cars should park next to one another in a parallel parking fashion next to their assigned number on the sidewalk, not bumper to bumper along the curb. Parking side by side allows for the outside car to pull away first and for the car next to the curb to pull out next. Please be patient and wait for your partner car’s children to finish loading before you pull away if children are actively loading. We ask that parents are on time for pick up and do not exit their cars at all. Each parent only has an assigned spot for a 2 minute window of time.  

We understand that some parents prefer to have their students meet them on one of the side streets near our school. This arrangement is fine, as long as students cross Alexandra Blvd. at the designated crosswalk. We also do not allow our students to walk through the parking lot alone to get to a parent or jaywalk across Alexandra Blvd.  

Please note:  For parents who do not receive a pass and wish to pick up their child by car each day, we ask you to simply wait until approximately 3:32 when the staff member with the sign comes in, pull into the lot, and then pick up your child along the curb,  near the main entrance of our school. Our buses pull in at 3:35 p.m.
