Mrs. Amy Mengler
As a 31 year veteran of district 47, I began as a “Renaissance” teacher, teaching all subjects to sixth graders. As education evolved, so did the job. I then became a language arts/social studies teacher. After honing my skills with sixth graders, I made the transition to seventh grade in 2015. Though I have a master’s degree in Educational Administration, leaving the classroom has never crossed my mind. Teaching middle school students the nuances of reading, the struggle of communicating through the written and spoken word, and navigating the history of our country has kept me young and excited every year. I take pride in the fact that my students will learn ‘til it hurts but become better learners with me as a part of their middle school experience. We also have fun! There are moments to be series and moments to be silly. Learning should and can be enjoyable!
