D47 Volunteer Process

  • Thank you for your interest in volunteering in District 47! Volunteers assist our schools in a variety of ways and positively impact the educational experience of our students. For the health and safety of our staff and students, volunteers are required to complete a two-step process:

    1) Complete a brief online application (see links below). The application process includes a background check conducted by the Raptor visitor and volunteer management system. Volunteers must fill out and submit an application each school year.

    2) Submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test to volunteertesting@d47.org. The test must be submitted no later than 24 hours prior to volunteering each time you volunteer. Per Governor Pritzker's Executive Order, all individuals who volunteer 15 minutes or more per week are considered school personnel and must be fully vaccinated or submit to weekly testing to volunteer in school facilities. The test must be a PCR test and cannot be an antigen test or “home test.” You can find a list of nearby testing sites here.

If we do not have a vaccination card or negative PCR test on file, you will not be granted “active” status as a volunteer. Should you have any questions about your volunteer status, please email volunteertesting@d47.org
