• Canterbury Events & Activities 

     

    Band

    All 5th grade students are able to participate in band. In the spring of their 4th grade year, students have the opportunity to try out instruments to find what suits them. In the fall, full band meets one morning a week and one time a week during the school day to practice. There are several band performances throughout the school year.     Running Club

    ­ This club meets weekly after school during the  spring months. 3­5 students run/walk the Canterbury property in the hopes of building endurance, friendships & fun!  Transportation is not provided.  

     

    Chess Club­ 

    Chess club meets during lunch and is available for intermediate level students on a first come first serve basis.  All ability levels are welcome.  The club is devoted to teaching the basics and practicing playing the strategy of the gam. The ultimate goal is to learn the basics and have fun! 

     

     

     Technology Club

    Technology Club

    ­ Technology club occurs before school and is open to students on a first-come, first-serve basis.This club provides students the opportunity to utilize and advance their technological skills under the guidance of certified staff from Canterbury. Transportation is not provided. 

     

    Canterbury Congress­

    This is open to students in 4th and 5th grades. Elected students participate in monthly meetings on items to improve the school and promote charitable acts.

     

    Safety Patrol­

    A club that provides 5th graders interested in keeping the school safe with just that opportunity. Student jobs include raising/lowering the flag, playground support in the morning and during dismissal in bus lines, and helping primary students enter/leave the building during arrival/dismissal.

     

     

    Wee Deviler  

    Wee Deliver­

    Canterbury School sponsors its very own postal system. This is run through PTO and is open to 2nd­-5th graders. Students may apply to be employees.  Jobs include mail carrier, postal worker trainer, Nixie Clerk, etc.


    Recycling Club­

    This club promotes being earth friendly and going green. Students help to promote recycling and keeping the school clean. Students participate during the school day.
