If you would like to get together with other students to have fun and discuss great books, then our Husmann book clubs are for you!
Rebecca Caudill Book Club (5th grade) Bring your sack lunch to the LMC from 12:05-1:25 where we will discuss the latest Rebecca Caudill book we have read. Students can sign up in the LMC, using the QR code on the bulletin board. We will meet every other month for a total of four times.
Bluestem Book Club (3rd & 4th grades) Bring your sack lunch to the LMC from 12:20-1:10 where we will discuss the latest Bluestem book we have read. Students can sign up in the LMC, using the QR code on the bulletin board. We will meet every other month for a total of four times.
5th grade students volunteer to serve as part of Husmann's Safety Patrol under the guidance of Ms. Kuhns, encouraging safe and positive behavior inside and outside the school. firstname.lastname@example.org
Students meet before school with Mrs. Ladner and perform for the school and family twice a year. Mrs. Ladner will meet her students in the vestibule by the main entrance Door #2 (which is located on the Paddock side of the school) five minutes before the start time. Students should not be dropped off in back of the school on Franklin St.

4th grade student help once a week gathering the recycling throughout the building and helping to dispose of it in the recycling bins.
3rd and 4th grade students keep the inter-building mail flowing as they process and deliver the letters throughout Husmann School.
5th grade students work with the band director weekly to learn their instrument and perform twice a year for families. Band practices are Thursdayand Friday. Click here to view the District 47 band website and to obtain a sign-up form to register for band.
Jump Rope Club
Any 3rd graders love to jump rope? Want to learn new tricks? This club is for you! We will meet 4 times for an hour each week to show our tricks and learn new ones! This club takes place in January. More information is provided by Ms. Kuhns prior to the start of this after school activity.
Cougar Council is open to any 4th and 5th grade student each school year. Two reps from each class will be elected by their classmates to participate in meetings that will be held once or twice a month from 8:15-8:45 AM.
The Husmann Environmental Club is for 3rd - 5th grade students. We will discover projects at school, at home, and in our community to help improve our environment and explore technology. We will meet one Thursday per month from 3:30-4:30 in the LMC.
5, 6, 7, 8...Husmann students are really great! Come get your dance on with the Cougar Groovers! Ms. Snell and Miss Brinkmeier will lead dancers in 6 weeks of fun learning different dance routines to current pop songs. This club is open to all students in 2nd-5th grade. However, space is limited to 30 students on a first come, first come serve basis.

The K-5 Cougar News would like you to be a part of their team to help us keep the school up to date on Husmann news!
If you would like to be a part of the K-5 Cougar New team please complete a permission slip, available in the LMC.
