  • Remote Learning to Begin Tuesday, March 31st

Posted by Kristy Kleckauskas on 3/31/2020 5:00:00 AM

    Good Morning, Students and Parents/Guardians!

As the Encore team transitions to remote learning, there are a few key components to be aware of.

    1. Encore teachers will post their assignments on Google Classroom the first two days of every week until we are back in session.

    1. Encore instruction will be 15 minutes two days a week until we return to the physical classroom. The first two weeks are outlined below. Should there be any changes moving forward, there will be communication from your Encore teacher.

    • March 31st and April 1st (weekly total 30 min)
    • April 6th and April 7th  (weekly total 30 min)

    1. Due to our limited amount of time, some assignments could last longer than a day or two. If this is the case, the Encore teacher will communicate due dates via Google Classroom.

    1. In order to record attendance/participation, there will be a daily reflection/exit slip via Google Classroom should the final project last more than one day. All assignments are due no later than 9pm daily.  Please make sure assignments and/or exit slips are turned in by that deadline (or sooner) each night.

    1. Though instructional time is limited to 15 minutes a day for Encore classes, students are able to spend more time (if they desire) on any creative or curious endeavor or on our ¿Tienes tiempo extra? activities posted in Google Classroom.

    1. Encore teachers will be available via Google Classroom or e-mail to support instruction from 7:45-12:45 every day.

This will be new terrain for all of us. We look forward to working together with you and your student to ensure quality instruction continues to the best of our ability.

    Thank you for your support!

    5 Essentials Survey

This fall, students, staff, and parents across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the eighth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials survey. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about our school. The parent survey (available in English and Spanish) is now open and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. One survey may be completed and submitted for each child by either parent. We hope you will take this opportunity to provide us with your feedback. To access the survey, please visit http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/.

  • ¡Bienvenidos al Año Escolar 2019-2020! - Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

Posted by Kristy Kleckauskas on 8/21/2019 7:00:00 AM

Hello and welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Srta. Kleckauskas, and I am so excited to meet all of you and see many familiar faces on the first day of school! We are going to have an incredible trimester in Spanish this year! If you've had Spanish in the past, I hope you're excited and ready to continue journeying forward by growing in your knowledge of the Spanish language and culture; and, if this will be your very first time learning Spanish, I hope you're excited and eager to begin taking the first steps in your Spanish-speaking journey! I also wanted to share with you that even though I am your teacher, I am still learning alongside you and growing in my Spanish skills. This is one of the many reasons why I LOVE my job as a middle school teacher! Learning is truly a gift that lasts a lifetime!
