Dear Canterbury families,
It is with great joy that I am introducing myself as the new principal of Canterbury Elementary School and welcoming you to what is sure to be a wonderful school year! As the first day quickly approaches and I anticipate getting to know all of you, I would like to share a bit about myself as a new member of our school community.
I have had the honor of serving children and families as an educator in Wisconsin, Florida, and Illinois over the course of my 20-year career. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school, in addition to working in a daycare and at a university. As you can tell from this lengthy list, I love children of all ages! As an administrator, I served two years as an assistant principal and am now entering my sixth year in a principalship. I am eager to join the Canterbury family as I believe my experiences and skillset will benefit the students here. I also know that the work here will be highly rewarding for me, personally, and I am eager to share that joy with those around me.
On a personal level, I am the proud mother of two daughters, Bella (17) and Kenzie (7). I am married to Jarret Graff, and our family lives in Wonder Lake. We enjoy boating and waterskiing, and our family is involved with the Wonder Lake Waterski Show Team, a competitive, non-profit organization.
In the near future, I hope to meet each and every one of your families and learn about your interests. I hope that you will be an active member of our community as a volunteer and/or PTO member. I also hope that you will proactively communicate with our staff to help us provide the high quality education that each child deserves. Our children benefit from strong relationships between family and school, so please join us in developing that connection.
In closing, my vision is that Canterbury will be a place where students prosper...where they feel safe... where they feel accepted and encouraged...where the bonds between adults and students are respectful and uplifting...a place where we are all inspired to grow and learn as a community. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your family in this way.
Mrs. Stacy Graff
