District 47 Welcomes Stacy Graff as New Director of Literacy

We are proud to announce that Stacy Graff has been named the new Director of Literacy for District 47, pending board approval on June 16, 2025. With over 20 years of experience in education, including more than a decade of service as the principal of Canterbury Elementary, Stacy brings a deep commitment to student growth, instructional excellence, and collaborative leadership.

“Throughout her 11 years at Canterbury, Ms. Graff has earned the trust and respect of students, staff, and families,” said Dr. Kathy Hinz, superintendent. “Her leadership has always centered on what’s best for kids, and she’s built strong partnerships across the district to strengthen programs and support all learners.”

Ms. Graff has teaching and administrative experience at the elementary and middle school level, where she participated in and led curriculum and instruction efforts across multiple content areas. These diverse experiences provide her with a unique perspective on student development and literacy needs across all grade levels. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, as well as a master’s degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the district in this new role,” said Graff. “I look forward to building on the progress we’ve already made and sustaining that momentum to ensure every student develops the skills and confidence needed to succeed.”

Ms. Graff will begin her new role on July 1, 2025. District 47 will seek to fill the Canterbury Elementary principalship this summer.
