District 47 Names New Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is pleased to announce that Dr. Anastasia Gruper has been selected as the next Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, pending Board of Education approval on May 18, 2026. She will officially step into the role for the 2026–2027 school year.

Dr. Gruper brings 25 years of experience in education, all rooted in a deep commitment to District 47 students, staff, and families. She began her career at Bernotas Middle School as a seventh-grade literacy teacher before moving into administration as a middle school assistant principal. Her leadership journey continued at Glacier Ridge Elementary, where she served as an assistant principal, followed by a director-level role within the district.

After earning her doctoral degree, Dr. Gruper also expanded her impact beyond District 47 by serving as an adjunct professor at the university level, helping to prepare future educators. For the past four years, she has served as principal at Glacier Ridge Elementary, where she has been instrumental in fostering a strong school community and supporting student growth.

“It is an honor that I get to continue my career in District 47,” said Dr. Gruper. “We have a strong community, and it has been a joy to walk alongside families and staff to develop curriculum over the years. I look forward to the continued collaboration to do what is best for our students.”

Throughout her career, Dr. Gruper has demonstrated a passion for continuous improvement and collaboration. She has served on numerous district committees, consistently seeking out innovative practices and strategies to enhance teaching and learning. Known for building strong relationships with both staff and families, she keeps students at the center of every decision.

In her new role, Dr. Gruper will oversee curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment systems across the district. Her extensive experience and dedication to District 47’s mission will support continued efforts to ensure all students grow, feel empowered, and thrive.
