Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 Celebrates Continued Growth on 2024–2025 Illinois Report Card

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released the 2024-2025 Illinois Report Card data on October 30, and Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is proud to celebrate continued growth and strong academic performance across its schools.

One component of the School Report Card is the annual summative designation for each school. Designations are based on academics, student success, school culture and climate, and financial investments. This year, North Elementary earned the highest designation of Exemplary, placing it among the top 10% of schools in Illinois. Canterbury, Glacier Ridge, Husmann, Indian Prairie, South, West, and Woods Creek Elementary Schools, along with Bernotas, Hannah Beardsley, and Lundahl Middle Schools, received the second-highest summative designation of Commendable. This year’s data also reflects significant gains in key subject areas. District 47’s English Language Arts (ELA) and science proficiency rates exceeded state averages, while math growth reached its highest level in the past five years, reflecting the impact of the district’s new math curriculum, high-quality instruction, and targeted support.

“Each year, we use this data to reflect on our progress and guide our continued improvement,” said Dr. Kathy J. Hinz, superintendent. “The growth we’re seeing is a direct result of our teachers’ dedication, our students’ hard work, and the collaboration across our school community. These results reaffirm that by working together and staying true to our mission to grow, empower, and thrive, we can achieve real, meaningful progress.”

District 47 continues to support student growth through its Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, ensuring that the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all learners are met. The district remains committed to providing inclusive, engaging, and equitable learning environments that prepare students for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.
