    Week of 9/3/19


    Monday- No School. Happy Labor Day!

    Tuesday- Regular schedule. Social work groups will be run during XLT classes today. 

    Wednesday- Fall Math MAP Testing. Students will follow Universal Testing Schedule. 6th Grade Parent Night is on Wednesday from 6-8pm. Ms. Johnson will be in attendance on Wed. Hope to see you there!

    Thursday- Fall Reading MAP Testing. Students will follow Universal Testing Schedule. 7th and 8th grade Parent Night is Thursday night from 6-8pm. Mr. Mack will be there on Thurs. night.

    Friday- Back to regular bell schedule. Leaderboard Friday!! Must be on level and make your weekly percentage to participate. Don't forgot our OASIS Bear Bucks Store is open on Fridays!! Time to cash in all those orange bucks.

    Week of 8/26/19

    Monday- First full week of the school year

    Tuesday, August 27th- Is Drill Day! We will practice different safety drills so we know what to do in emergency situations. We will practice a lockdown, fire drill, shelter in place, and bus evacuations. 

    Wednesday- Ms. Johnson's 6th Grade LA class will make its first trip down to the LMC. Get ready to read! 

    Friday- LEADERBOARD Fridays!! If you are on level (above Respect), make your weekly average (eg, 80% for Responsibility level), you can earn special rewards and privileges. On Fridays you can also shop in our OASIS Bear Bucks Store. Students must be on level to participate!

    Welcome back!!

    First Week at a Glance... 8/21/19-8/23/19

    -Wednesday, August 21- First Day of School!! Early Release (1PM) 

    -Thursday- Students follow regular schedule. 

    -Friday- School Picture Day! Make sure to bring back your photo orders that were sent home this week if you want to order school photographs.

    Week of May 6, 2019

    *This week we begin MAP Testing and FastBridge Benchmark Testing. 

    *MAP Testing will be this Wednesday and Thursday. Students will be on a special testing schedule those days.

    *FastBridge Testing will begin Friday, and continue into next week. 

    *It's SPIRIT WEEK! 5/6-5/10

    Monday- Comfy Day

    Tuesday- Inside Out Day... Wear something to reflect your mood!

    Wednesday - Wear Club or Activity T-Shirt

    Thursday - Disney Day

    Friday - Fan Friday... Wear something to show what you are a fan of.

    Week of 4/29/2019

    *Earning period for 6th Grade Ice Cream Social begins! Students must be off Respect Level and receive no majors this week to participate. 


    *This week we will start Benchmarking (Fast Bridge and AIMS Writing)


    *Thursday, May 2 - HANNAH PALOOZA! Please join us for Open House to celebrate the awesome things the students have worked on this year! Open house in OASIS will run from 4-7pm. Mr. Mack will be here from 4-5:30 and Ms. Johnson will be here from 5:30-7pm. You can come at any time though! Hope to see you there!


    *Friday- 6th Grade Ice Cream Social - Celebration for positive behavior choices.

    Welcome to week of March 11


    -this week we will begin IAR Testing. We will test on Thursday and Friday. Students will follow a special testing schedule those days.

    -Next week is SPIRIT WEEK!

    Spirit Week

         March 18th- 22nd

    Monday, March 18th- Belated St. Patrick’s Day colors. Everyone's Irish today!

    Tuesday, March 19th- Twin Day

    (Partner up with a friend and TWIN IT!)

    Wednesday, March 20th March Madness

    (hats, t-shirt jerseys, and favorite team colors will fly!)


    Thursday, March 21st - Throwback Thursday

    (Find your favorite style from another decade and dress up 70s, 80s, 90s or early 2000s)

    Friday, March 22nd: Hawaiian Day

    (Wear your Hawaiian wear to welcome warmer weather)

    Monday- no school on Monday, MLK Day

    Tuesday- No Brain Group today, ALL after school activities are canceled due to inclement weather

    Wednesday- Early Release Day 1PM

    Thursday & Friday- Continue FastBridge Testing

    Week at a glance....


    -We are starting FastBridge benchmark testing this week. The assessment tests reading comprehension, fluency, and math application. 


    -We are completing a Door Decorating Context in XLT to celebrate HBMS and school spirit this week. The finished projects will be judged this Thursday by Student Council!


    -No school on Friday. It is a teacher in-service day.


    -No school on Monday for MLK Day.

    Happy New Year... and Welcome Back!


    I hope you had a nice, enjoyable winter break!


    Our first week back will include several different projects and MAP Testing on Wednesday and Thursday. We will have a special schedule on the testing days to allow for the testing window.

    Week of 12/17/2018


    -Students are working on finishing their research projects in 6th grade LA. It is so fun to see the range of interests among the students. They did a great job selecting interesting topics, using the internet to research, and putting it all together in Google Slides, essays, Moovly, and newspaper articles. 


    -Winter Break is HERE! There is no school from 12/22-1/6. See you all next YEAR! Happy Holidays!!!!
