Student Achievement & Growth
The District uses the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment to determine student achievement and growth. We use this assessment as it doesn't take significant time away from instruction, provides results to our staff within days of the assessment, is informative to our instructional decision-making, and is backed by two decades of research. For readers interested in seeing how the District performs on state mandated assessments, please visit the District 47 Interactive Report Card.
The graphs below show District 47's 2016, 2017, & 2018 MAP achievement and growth scores by grade level in reading and math. Numbers represent a percentile rank, indicating that D47 students in that particular grade level performed as well as or better than students tested in a national sample. For example, students scoring at the 75th percentile scored as well as, or better than, 75 percent of students nationally in the same grade/subject area. This would also mean that 25 percent of the students in that norm group exceeded this score. Note: Percentile rank is NOT a percentage of items that students answered correctly.
