Degrees and Certifications:
Greetings! I’m Kristin Ziemba, Learning Specialist at Husmann Elementary School. What is a Learning Specialist? I am here for students, teachers, and parents to help struggling learners succeed in school. I provide intervention services for students in the RTI (Response to Intervention) process. I provide special education services to students on IEP’s (Individualized Education Programs), and I am a resource for teachers and parents. In short, I specialize in learning! Classroom teachers know a lot about classroom management and the content pertaining to the specific grade she teaches, but I have knowledge about multiple grade levels and different instructional methods to teach struggling learners. My instruction is highly personalized, data driven, and ever changing. The ultimate goal of my instruction is to provide a bridge between individual success and success in the general education classroom.
I started teaching at Husmann in 2012 when I returned to my hometown of Crystal Lake after 20 years away. Prior to my return I taught special education in Oregon, Alaska, and Arizona. I have over 20 years experience in the ever changing field of education and have enjoyed every moment. I believe it takes a village to raise a child and that all children can learn.
