Degrees and Certifications:
I am so excited to start another year in 5th grade at Glacier Ridge! I graduated from DePaul University in Chicago in 2009 where I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and with a concentration in Spanish. I have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. Before landing in 5th grade I spent many years doing long term substitute positions in District 47 and District 158. I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade and Art.
As a child, I grew up in Crystal Lake and attended District 47 schools. I now live in downtown Arlington Heights. My husband and I got married in 2010. Mr. Brouder is a graphic designer at an ad agency. We have a dog named Olive. I have an older brother who lives in Denver and a younger sister who lives in Madison (go Badgers!). Besides teaching, I enjoy traveling, cooking, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.
The success of your child is extremely important to me. As a teacher I do not only hold high expectations for my students, but for myself as well. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you!
It’s going to be a wonderful year!
