Degrees and Certifications:
Hi! I am super excited to be your child's teacher this year! In our classroom, we are a community of learners. My goal is that all students respect eachother's differences, are kind to one another, and have fun learning! Communication between myself and you is so important to your child's success this year. I look forward to working as a team with you! Please contact me at any time if you have any questions.
My husband Mike and I have lived in Crystal Lake for 22 years now. Time sure does fly! We have three wonderful children: Morgan is 24 and lives in Chicago and works at a restaurant. My other daughter, Kelly, is 21 and is working hard as a shift mananger at Noodles and Company and attending MCC. My son Gavin is a senior at Crystal Lake South. He is on the golf team.
For my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, I attended Bradley University. I also continued my education and earned my Master's Degree from Concordia University. In order to keep up with the latest best practices in education, I am continually taking classes.
I have been teaching for 19 years. My first years of experience were spent teaching a variety of grade levels ( 4th, 1st, 1st/2nd multiage, and 2nd) in Schaumburg School District 54. After choosing to be a stay at home mom, I returned to teaching by being a substitute teacher in District 47. Finally after realizing that I wanted to get back into teaching full time, I began teaching third grade at Glacier Ridge. This has been my home for 10 years now. I just love this grade level and school!
Interests and Favorites
On my wall in my house, I have a picture of my family and the saying "Together is my favorite place". So as you can tell, my family is so imporatnt to me. I love doing fun activities with them such as Sunday dinner, playing games, traveling, and swimming! I also enjoy reading, going for nature walks, biking, going to movies and plays. My favorite color is purple. My favorite food is Chinese food. I really love having a cup of tea and cozing up with a good book.
