District 47 kindergarten registration for the 2019-2020 school year was held February 20-21, 2019. All families are encouraged to register as early as possible as this helps with appropriate staffing and class size. If you missed this registration and still need to register your child, please call the CORE Center at 815-788-5000 as soon as possible to make an appointment.

    Required Documents

Parents or guardians must provide the following documentation to enroll their child for kindergarten: an original birth certificate (hospital certificates are not acceptable) and an accepted form of proof of residency (even if child currently has a sibling in District 47). Click Registration Requirements for details. Screenings will take place in early and mid April and will incorporate both academic and social-emotional components. The cost for a screening (regardless of the outcome) is $150 and checks should be made payable to District 47 at the time of the screening. If the child has a sibling enrolled in the school district and he/she qualifies for free and/or reduced lunch, the fee may be reduced or possibly waived.

Parents interested in both early entrance into kindergarten and their child participating in the dual language program, must attend a parent meeting and apply for the program. In their application for the dual language program, they should indicate that they are seeking early entrance into kindergarten.
