Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 will start accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2019-2020 school year on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 and Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the CORE Center, 300 Commerce Drive in Crystal Lake. Three timeslots are available for registration on both days. Parents can register between 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend according to the schedule below as school representatives will be present on each school's designated day. Early registration helps determine overall enrollment and assists with appropriate staffing and class size. Informational meetings about District 47's Dual Language program will be held for parents of incoming kindergarten students. Attendance at one of the meetings will be required for possible placement into the program. For dual language program meeting dates, see below.

    Kindergarten Eligibility

A child turning 5 years old on or before September 1st of any school year has historically been a requirement for kindergarten. Parents interested in enrolling a child not 5 years old on or before this date should make a request by completing the form below no later than April 1, 2019. Requests after April 1 will not be honored.

    Early Entrance Form - English

Formulario de admisión temprana - Español

The information provided in this document will not guarantee early entrance into kindergarten. Parents will be contacted by a D47 staff member upon completing the online form and a screening for their child will be scheduled in April. Please note: Students who are not yet 5 years of age will not be allowed to register during the February kindergarten registration. Registration will be scheduled upon completion of the screening process and when a final determination has been made.

Screenings will take place April 9, 10 and 11 and will incorporate both academic and social-emotional components. The cost for a screening (regardless of the outcome) is $150 and checks should be made payable to District 47 at the time of the screening. If the child has a sibling enrolled in the school district and he/she qualifies for free and/or reduced lunch, the fee may be reduced or possibly waived.

    Required Documents

Parents or guardians must provide the following documentation to enroll their child for kindergarten: an original birth certificate (hospital certificates are not acceptable) and an accepted form of proof of residency (even if child currently has a sibling in District 47). Click Registration Requirements for details. To expedite the registration process, parents are encouraged to prefill a New Student Registration Packet
