Degrees and Certifications:
Hi, I'm Miss Jaconetti and this is my 7th year teaching at West Elementary School! I taught second grade at West for five years and this will be my second year teaching kindergarten at West. Kindergarten is such a unique and important year for our young learners and it is my goal to instill a love of learning in the kindergarten students each and every day. This year will be a learning adventure for all of us as we begin the year with remote learning and will certainly require teamwork and flexibility. I am confident that we will work together to make this kindergarten year successful for your child and I am looking forward to spending the year learning and growing together!
I live in Park Ridge with my family and I enjoy spending time with my parents, sister, and brothers. We also have a dog named Lovie. I graduated from Elmhurst College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. My previous teaching experience includes teaching second grade here at West and student teaching in a second grade classroom in Elmhurst, Illinois. A few things that I enjoy in my free time include spending time with family and friends, reading books, shopping, watching the Cubs, and listening to country music.
A little bit about my teaching philosophy...
One of my most important goals as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in all of my students. I often share with the students that I am always learning something new and I'm excited to share many classroom moments when we learn something new together. I enjoy getting to know each of my students as individual learners in order to help them succeed and grow throughout the year in our kindergarten classroom. Also, I encourage an "open door" communication policy with students' families and I truly believe in working collaboratively with parents to help their child have a successful year in kindergarten.
