The fourth and fifth grade Extended Curriculum program consists of pullout classes which meet approximately five hours per week with the E.C. Facilitator to enrich curricular areas. The focus of the Extended Curriculum units is on higher level thinking skills. Emphasis is a hands-on approach to learning. Cooperative learning is also emphasized, with each student working actively in different groupings. Individual responsibility is stressed, as is the active joy of learning to problem solve for its own sake.
