Dr. Kathy Hinz has served as Superintendent of Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 since 2013. Since joining the district in 1996, she has served in a variety of roles, including School Psychologist, Assistant Director and Director of Special Education, and Assistant Superintendent of Professional Development and Student Services. In 2022, Hinz was named the Kishwaukee region Superintendent of Distinction by the Illinois Association of School Administrators. In 2017, she was named a Woman of Distinction by Shaw Media and a Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association. In addition to her role with District 47, Hinz has served on the board of directors for the Crystal Lake YMCA, the Raue Center for the Arts, the McHenry County Mental Health Board, and the Women’s Network of School Administrators. Hinz is a graduate of Leadership Greater McHenry County’s inaugural class of 2005.
