STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. In the past, these disciplines may have been taught independently, today they are woven together in order to engage students and equip them with critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and collaborative skills. It ultimately establishes connections between the school, workplace, community, and the global economy. We will be tapping into your child’s natural curiosity to help develop the skills that will be needed in his or her future. This will be done with engaging, exciting and hands-on activities that will expose your child to real world problem-based learning.
Projects range from designing an indestructible house for the Three Little Pigs in Kindergarten to designing and programming robots in Fifth Grade. Literature is the foundation for all the activities, projects and problems in the lessons developed by Project Lead the Way Launch (PLTW), a nationally available STEM curriculum. Additionally, your child will be practicing technology skills through regular use of iPads to create, explore and evaluate their learning. Be ready to hear your child’s excitement as they explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
