BA Elementary Education with a Reading Minor from the University of Northern Iowa MA Curriculum & Instruction from Wayne State College
My name is Nellica Seibert and this is my 18th year of teaching. This is my 5th year at Woods Creek and I couldn’t be happier to be in such a dynamic school with such great families and teachers.
I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa. In my spare time I love to read, exercise and spend time with my friends and family. My husband, Scott, and I have two beautiful girls. Clara is 14 years old and Lydia is 12 years old. We also have a crazy dog and lazy cat.
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2001. My 1st year out of college, I was the Director of Education at a Sylvan Learning Center. I then took a teaching job in a combination 3rd/4th grade classroom in Nebraska. After that we moved to Sioux City, IA where I taught 1st grade for 3 years in a Reading First school. We then moved back to Nebraska where I taught for 4 years in Papillion, NE in both 1st and 2nd grade. Our last move was to Dubuque, IA where I was a 2nd and 3rd grade looping teacher at an Expeditionary Learning and Charter for the Arts school. I have been so lucky to have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade during these years at a variety of school that have taught me to be a well-rounded, experienced educator.
I am so excited for the upcoming school year. We will learn so much and have fun in 1st grade!
