About Ms. Belloto
Hello, Hola, Bonjour, Yeoboseyo, Hallo!
I grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and remain a Buckeye Fan. I lived there until I was 26 years old. I am the 5th out of ten children. I love coming from a large family of 5 brothers, 4 sisters, a fantastic father & mother and lots of nephews, nieces & cousins.
As a young girl, I attended a Catholic grade school in Struthers, Ohio. After graduating from Struthers High School, I attended Youngstown State University where, because of my mom's job, our tuition was free. My dad was a CPA and also on the Board of Education serving as Clerk-treasurer for over 25 years. My major at YSU was art education.
I moved to Illinois and received my B.F.A from Northern Illinois University. My major was electronic imaging and comprenhensive/graphic design. I earned my Master's in Education from National-Louis University and my Special Education Endorsement from University of Phoenix.
After graduating from N.I.U., I moved to Lake in the Hills where I had two daughters. Our family also lived in Cary for 14 years. I’ve taught many different grade levels in Cary, Wauconda and Crystal Lake. This is my 21st year of teaching in Crystal Lake, but my 8th as art teacher at Coventry. I've had many wonderful opportunities traveling to England, Scotland, Germany, Mexico and France. These experiences brought out a passion for learning more about the different cultures because of the food, art history, family living/societal behaviors and overall diversity that I was exposed to.
I feel I’ve come full circle in the past 8 years of teaching art. I also treasure what I've learned from my students. The most important element is that they are willing to try their best when they are encouraged to problem solve and show & share their discoveries with me!
