• District 47 Expands Technology in Grades 4 & 5 in 2018-2019

In addition to providing Chromebooks to all middle schoolers starting with the 2016-2017 school year, District 47 will be expanding the technology tools in all elementary buildings. Currently, there are four to eight iPads in each K-3 classroom. Starting in the fall of 2018, there will be a cart of chromebooks assigned to each 4th and 5th grade classroom.  The number of devices in each cart will vary based on the enrollment of the classroom.  These devices provides rich resources tied to the English Language Arts Units of Study, Math Expressions curriculum, and will also be used for technology based assessments and encore classes where appropriate.

There will be a $15 technology fee assessed per K-5 student to help cover the cost of these additional devices.

Questions about District 47's technology roll-out next year may be directed to Dave Jenkins, Assistant Superintendent of Technology Services, at dcjenkins@d47.org
