Vaccinations

  • Per the ISBE/IDPH Guidance for Schools, getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is one of the most effective mitigation strategies for minimizing the spread of COVID-19. Per the FDA, children ages 5-11 are now eligible for the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine. District 47 does not plan to host any vaccine clinics for children as the vaccine is expected to be widely available at pediatrician and medical provider offices as well as pharmacies. Like adults, children who are fully vaccinated will not need to quarantine or be excluded from school if they’ve been exposed to COVID-19 unless they are symptomatic or test positive.

If your child has received the COVID-19 vaccine, families are requested to provide proof of vaccination by dropping off a copy of your child's vaccination record at the school’s main office or by scanning and emailing it to the school. Click the link for your school's medical records email address. The vaccination status of eligible students will be requested to ensure proper protocols are followed in the event of a COVID-19 exposure or outbreak. If deemed a close contact, students who have been vaccinated will NOT need to quarantine unless they are symptomatic or test positive for COVID-19. If a student is vaccinated and the district does not have proof of vaccination on file, the student will be treated as if they were unvaccinated and be subject to contact tracing and quarantine.
