Extended Learning Time (XLT)
-
Extended Learning Time (XLT) was implemented in District 47 middle schools during the 2018-19 school year to benefit all students. On a daily basis, XLT provides a dedicated time slot to help students meet and exceed academic targets through reinforcement, repetition, extension, and differentiation.
During XLT, students have an opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of challenging content and concepts, as well as learn and practice interpersonal and executive functioning skills, such as how to organize and prioritize tasks, develop study skills, and manage stress.
