About Mrs. Zima
Degrees and Certifications:
I am really looking forward to getting to know you this year, so let me tell you a little about me.
I received my bachelors degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and my masters degrees from Northern Illinois University. I have taught first, second, third, and fifth grades. I have also worked as a paraprofessional/teaching assistant in several districts with gifted, learning resource, and autism spectrum disorder programs.
The most beautiful word to me is family, and I’m so fortunate to share my life and love with an amazing husband, two fantastic children (one daughter and one son), two big dogs, and two crazy cats. My parents also live in the area, so I’m able to spend time with them as well.
I enjoy doing anything that involves my family. I love to travel and explore new places as well as visit family in Florida, Colorado, and California. But I also have other interests such as reading, watching movies, hiking, and doing just about anything that involves the water (my happy place is the beach). Because I’m a big believer that learning is a life-long quest, I tried yoga and paddle boarding this summer and I think they’re both keepers.
I believe a good education is the most important thing you can do for yourself, because with knowledge comes the power to shape your life and change the world. I’m honored to be able to share your education journey this year and look forward to the adventure.
