Map Testing
Please view the video here: MAP Testing.
During the weeks of 04/15/13 through 05/03/13, your child will take the 3rd set of tests called Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP). We are giving students MAP tests to help determine their instructional levels and to measure academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year in the areas of Reading and Math.Your child will take the tests on a computer. Please note that not all ELL students will take the MAP assessment.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning.
An individual student progress report that will show you how your student performed on this assessment will be sent home with the November progress report. This is the first time the District has administered MAP assessments, and we want to make sure the reports are accurately downloaded and that our teachers have time to review prior to distributing the reports. In the future, we hope to distribute the results to parents soon after the window closes.
We are truly excited to begin a new era that focuses on every child’s individual growth and achievement. Partnering to help all kids learn, parents and teachers can have a profound positive effect on the lives of our children.
Additional information on the MAP testing can be Found Here8th Honors Night

Activity Bus
It is my pleasure to announce that activity buses will continue to run in the 2012-2013 school year, beginning on August 30. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, buses will be available at 4:15 to transport students home from all three of our middle schools at designated drop off areas in each school community. The intent in providing these actvity buses is to enable more students the opportunity to participate in school activities, clubs, sports, or remedial help as appropriate.
