Congratulations to our fifth grade students who put on a wonderful Holiday program! They certainly got everyone in the holiday spirit!
During the winter break, please encourage your children to spend some time with a good book. We'd also suggest that children in grades 3-5 access the "raz-kids" website to read some e-books. On that website, Indian Prairie third through fifth grade teachers have identified books targeted for your child’s reading level. Information was sent home from your child’s teacher regarding this. For more information, please check out the "educational links" on the left side of this webpage.
We hope your family enjoys the winter break, and that you find some time for relaxation. Happy Holidays!

Kindergarten Registration
If you have or know someone who has a child that will be entering kindergarten next Fall, plan on attending our Indian Prairie registration on Monday January 12th from 9:15a.m. to 10:00a.m. and from 6:00p.m. and 6:45p.m. See below for more information.
Winter's Here!  The cold weather is here! D47 policy for outside activities is:
When the weather is 15 degrees and warmer, students can be outside for an unlimited amount of time. When the temperature is between 0 and 15 degrees, students can go outside for up to 20 minutes. Students will remain inside when the temperature is below 0 degrees.
Please make sure you send your children to school each day with appropriate attire for outside activities.

Cognitive Testing is administered in the Fall during the month of October. Students in grades 3 and 5 participate in this testing, known as the Otis Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT). The dates are as follows:
10/14-10/17 Grade 3 OLSAT Practice
10/20-10/31 Grades 3 & 5 OLSAT Test
ISAT Testing will be administered to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students March 2 through March 13 of 2009. Students will be tested as follows:

Parents can register their kindergarten child attending Indian Prairie per the schedule below:
Monday, January 12, 2009
9:15a.m.-10:00a.m.
6:00p.m.-6:45p.m.
At registration parents will receive general information about kindergarten and the physical examination forms that must be completed before entering school.
