Crystal Lake School District 47 and the Crystal Lake Police Presentation |
Please take some time to review the child safety/abduction presentation crafted by the Crystal Lake Police Department. Kindergarten Registration |
|
Any families within Indian Prairie boundaries who have a child ready to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2010 (age 5 before September 1, 2010) should plan to attend our annual Kindergarten Registration on Monday, January 11. Families will be able to register their incoming students at either session - 9:15 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. and must bring with them an original or certified copy of the child's birth certificate (not a hospital certificate). In addition, if this is your first child in a District 47 school, you will also need to provide proof of residency.
If you know of someone who will have a child ready for kindergarten but does not already have a student in District 47, please pass this information on to them. Should you have any questions, please call our school office at 815-459-2124 or the District Administration Center at 815-459-6070.

Remember to keep reading at least 15-20 minutes each day. It's a fun and inexpensive way to "travel" and find adventure. Our Reading Team has provided some helpful tips below on reading and writing activities for parents to enjoy with their children:
Write: a letter, grocery list, note, label, story, recipe
Talk about: a book, television show, a fun time at school, something I learned today
Read: a story, nursery rhyme, alphabet book, information book, picture book, rhyming book.

School District 47 uses the Instant Alert® automated calling system
from Honeywell to contact parents/guardians with urgent messages such
as school cancellations.
This is a user-based system, meaning that the parent is responsible for
keeping the information up to date. In order for this system to work
effectively, parents need to keep their profile updated.
