The format of the school improvement plan is in the process of being changed to reflect the reporting system of record that the State of Illinois is asking schools to use beginning during the 12-13 school year. As a result, the summary/document that has been posted on the school's website in past years will no longer be posted each fall.
School staff is currently being trained and participating in the State's new continuous school improvement process. This process has the staff accessing our current practices and policies through the use of indicators that gauge the effective use of resources and instruction to impact student achievement. As we rate our progress on each indicator, we are determining what is in place that is working and what adjustments are needed to achieve our goal of increasing student achievement. As we continue through the process over the course of the school year, the website will be updated with more information. Please continue to visit the site throughout the year for updates.

Additional Early Release Days Approved for the 2012-2013 School Year- Facts and Schedule
Purpose:
During this past April's Board of Education meeting, the Board approved the implementation of five early release days for the 2012-2013 school year for the purposes of engaging District 47 teachers in structured and targeted staff development from which we hope to improve student learning outcomes. While the concept of staff release time being utilized in this capacity is new to District 47, it is a relatively common practice in many neighboring school districts including our local area high school district.

For 3rd-5th grade students, this website supports the curriculum and provides on-line math games, an interactive student reference book, and parent information about the program. Contact your child's teacher for his or her username and password.

Raz-Kids
GRS School was able to obtain a subscription to Raz-Kids online for the students to use at school, at home or from any computer with internet access. The program is designed to allow students to read at their individual reading ability and provides feedback to their teacher through the use of online quizzes and assignment progress tools. We’re excited that this wonderful resource is open for students to use all summer long to support their reading success!
